Wellington State Park

If you are looking for a great place to swim, hike or picnic, then Wellington State Park is the place for you. The park consists of the largest freshwater swimming beach in the New Hampshire State Park system, and has views of one of New Hampshire's deepest and clearest lakes. Volleyball and horseshoe courts, fishing areas and spectacular views of Newfound Lake and Cliff and Belle Islands are also points of interest at the park.

Operating schedule

Wellington State Park is open full-time for the 2011 season from May 27th through September 5th. Starting on September 9th and going until October 10th the park will only be open on weekends, and the park closes for the season starting on October 10th. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to sunset, Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 am to sunset, but gates are always opened.

Boating

If boating is your thing, then check out the boat launch that is operated by N.H. Fish & Game that adjoins the park, providing boaters year-round access to Newfound Lake for free. For regular admission price, boaters can access the boat lanes along the beach that lead to the park.

When thinking about your next vacation, consider all that New Hampshire has to offer. Definitely a winner with families, couples and singles.
