Pisgah State Park

Exploring Pisgah by land

Six major trailheads disperse users of all sorts throughout the park year-round. Hiking and backpacking are ideal ways to explore New Hampshire's largest state park. There are numerous trails leading through meadows and wetlands and along the tops of mountainous ridges. Some trails are tame, while others are quite strenuous. Developed and primitive campsites are available for overnight use, but they have few amenities. Bikes, ATVs and motorcycles are allowed in some sections of the park when conditions permit. There are sometimes closures to this type of use, so it is best to contact the local ranger station before you visit.

Adventure on the water

The park also protects seven different ponds and the shores of the Ashuelot River. Both the ponds and river offer ample opportunities for sport fishers. Try your hand at catching walleye, crappie and smallmouth bass. Dogs on leashes are also allowed at Pisgah, so feel free to bring your canine friend along for the fun.
