Mt. Sunapee State Park

Visitors to the state of New Hampshire can relax and enjoy the outdoors for an afternoon or even several days at Mt. Sunapee State Park. This park is located off of Route 103 in the towns of Newbury and Goshen. Its total area is over 2900 acres, and it has a little something for everyone.

Mt. Sunapee State Beach

This park is perfect for families with its access to Mount Sunapee State Beach. The beach offers swimming when the weather is suitable, and the beach has its own bathhouse. Lifeguards are on duty between June 21 and September 1.

Other activities

After an afternoon at the beach, there are plenty of other activities to engage in at this park. Lake Sunapee is open to fishing and boating. There are also mountain biking trails that range in difficulty from easy to advanced. These are well-marked and most are easily completed within an afternoon.

Winter sports

During the winter months, guests visits Mount Sunapee State Park for alpine skiing. This is available through the Mt. Sunapee Resort, which is also owned by the State of New Hampshire.

Camping

Guests who just cannot seem to enjoy all that the park has to offer in one day can stay overnight in one of the five lean-to sites. These are equipped with pit toilets and water. Each has its own picnic table and campfire ring.

Mount Sunapee is a great State Park to visit all-year round. Many guests come several times per year and love to check out the changes in nature as the seasons pass. Skiing, mountain biking and lounging on the beach allow guests to appreciate the outdoors.
