Annett Wayside Park

Located near the Cathedral of the Pines National Shrine, Annett Wayside Park is part of the 1,494 acre Annett State Forest. A quiet picnic and hiking spot, it is situated at 271 Cathedral Road in the town of Rindge, New Hampshire. The park came into existence after it was given as a gift to the state of New Hampshire by the Governor’s Councilor, Albert Annett of Jaffrey. It is a relaxing place to go to listen to the sounds of nature and to stroll among the trees.
Picnicking
A pleasant spot for picnicking, Annett Wayside Park has picnic tables and pit toilets available. The New Hampshire park system has instituted a carry-in/carry-out program with regard to trash. Visitors are encouraged to pick up all trash and take it home with them to recycle it, if possible. With the Jaffrey New Hampshire bike trail nearby, the park is the perfect place to have a secluded picnic after a long bike ride. The bike trail follows along the perimeter of the quiet park.
Hiking
Part of the Annett State Forest, Annett Wayside Park has a quarter mile hiking trail that meanders along the shores of Black Reservoir Pond. The pond is completely edged with trees, and walking the pond is best between spring and fall. Many other hiking trails in the State Forest are accessible from the park.
Open year-round, Annett Wayside Park is the perfect destination to have a quiet picnic, read a book or take a short stroll. Bring your dog also; leashed pets are allowed in the park.
